Challenge
The client sought to modernize an eight-year-old estate while integrating a second residence for their newly married son—essentially creating two self-contained homes within one expansive structure. The challenge was to merge old and new architecture without disrupting the existing aesthetic, while also optimizing flow between shared and private areas. Structural reinforcement, waterproofing, and coordination between systems were key to successfully expanding the original footprint.
Result
The completed Northern Pines Residence is a fusion of tradition and modern refinement. The original stone façade now complements a new contemporary wing defined by glass walls and clean lines. Inside, the design emphasizes openness, light, and craftsmanship—from the marble kitchen with statement lighting to the luxurious spa-inspired bathrooms.
Both homes share access to resort-style amenities including a pool, cabana, gym, and sauna, offering comfort and privacy for multi-generational living. With its scale, precision, and elegance, Northern Pines stands as a testament to NICKS Developments’ ability to reimagine existing architecture into a cohesive, modern estate.
